We left the ship about 9:45a. Shuttle to the airport was about 45 minites. Our flights didn't quite go as planned at thr 2:45p departure. Sadly, we sat much of the day in the airport waiting to depart but then there was a 2 hour delay. Since our connecting flight to Bordeaux was only 1.5 hours between, it was too late to make that flight. Actually, it ended up more than 2 hours late. We stayed booked on the flight to Amsterdam but got rebooked on a flight for tomorrow at 2:45p for Bordeaux. We are to get vouchers at the Amsterdam airport for a shuttle, hotel, and food. It couldn't be helped and though exhausing it was the best it could be under the circumstances.
The shuttle took more than an hour to come. When it came, even though a large bus, it filled quickly. We opted for a taxi instead of waiting longer.
The Ibis Hotel welcomed all of us and even had a sparce sandwich buffet to offer. At least the bed was comfortable and we fell into it just before 11p.
We have both come down with "something" - coughing, blowing, sore throat, headache, etc. We bought various things at the pharmacy. I'm not sure any of it helps. Flying certainly does not help the stuffed head and ears. We will be happy to get to Bordeaux and the Airbnb tomorrow. We will rest and try to get well before the Taste of Bordeaux River Cruise on June 27th!
